The SCS - 16 is a 16 gauge, 19 strand single-lead. Each strand is made of very high grade Matched Crystal (MC) OFC covered with a dense and very pure silver coating. The resistance of this wire is: 14.1 Ohm/km. The total metal cross-section area is: 1.22 mm². The external diameter is: 1.96 mm. The insulation material is PTFE with “ van den Hul SCS - 16 ” printing. The absence of any harshness (thanks to the special extrusion processing) is an important sonic quality aspect of this type of wire. The main purpose of this wire is internal interconnect in pre and power amps. The SCS - 16 can also be used as a tweeter connection to the crossover in a loudspeaker system. The insulation voltage rating is 600 Volt RMS and the actual test voltage is 3500 Volt RMS. The SCS - 16 is available in 8 colours: black, brown, red, yellow, green, blue, grey and white.
